Awareness Technologies - Customer Care Review from London, London
Avoid it, they will subscribe you automatically. They offer some free services for 7 days but ask you a payment method to try.
I did use one of their apps which didn't work at all and cancel it within the 7 days free trail. But they charged me 99 dollar for a year subscription. They subscribe me without me asking.
Dont put any payment information and don't trust them. Customer services are the worst ever.
How do I cancel
I did not order this service. My son did by mistake. I have tried to
cancel it three times but can not seem to get it right. I had a chat
with someone twice and tried to follow their instruction but I
couldn`t figure out how to do it. I have never had a problem
where I could not speak to someone about it especially if I want
to cancel ssomething I didn`t order. I don`t have 100 words to say
since I don`t even know what your product is.VERY Poor CUSTOMER
SERVICE.

Tech suport lied about having a working install, not its useless to me
Purchased to install on cheating wifes machine. Tech said he had a good install, but the next day when I went online, they first said I had never dine an install.
I assured them I did with the previous teck, and the 2nd tech went and confirmed with the first tech that no install was done on my account . Later when I called him on inaccuracies , he did go back and read the correspondence, and had to retract his statement that an install had been performed and conformed. then the story changes to me gong in after the fact and resetting everything (why would me, a network engineer do something dumb like that) , just covering their tracks. I would have given $1000 for the info that the product would have likely revealed, as the wife cost me $141,000/yr
I returned the machine as per the 1st techs direction, and I will never ever have access to it again, completely wasted opportunity.
completely, I wished I had chosen a different product. the 2nd tech would not reveal who the 1st tech was, but the 2nd tech Paul lied about the situation .
- It looked like a good product
- 2nd agent lied
- 1st agent said we had a good install
- But he was wrong

Save your money
I purchased the software and received download instructions. After 2 hours with the techs (3 different ones) at Awareness Technologies, I still had absolutely nothing.
The download wouldn't work and I requested an immediate refund. The tech person said I needed to send an email to their support department and request a refund. I don't think they are very good at their job and will have my credit card company deal with them. Just so you know, save your money or find a different company to deal with.
These folks are not customer friendly and not very good at their jobs. I suspect they are scammers and will know shortely.

Webwatcher bait and switch
The Webwatcher on-line product description and purchase website doesn't mention that there is a "Premium" version of the product, which is required to get the Dashboard. You'll find out after you purchase Webwatcher that the Dashboard has to be purchased separately at extra cost.
They also don't mention the monthly charge for "extra" storage required to actually use the product.
These are classical bait and switch rip-off artists. I recommend you stay away from Awareness Technologies and all their products, including Webwatcher.
Web Watcher/ Awareness Technologies
As of today I've had the software for one month. Earlier this week I reached out and asked for a refund as I was not happy with the software or the way it operates.
I explained that I am an iPhone user and that their software is in Flash (which they do not explain on their web page). They responded that I should download an app that lets iOS and Android users view Flash. How about this.... LET PEOPLE KNOW BEFORE HAND!!!
They told me that I had 3 days to request a refund. I didn't even load the software for a week. I even told them to prorate the refund for the month if they like.
A word about the software.
It is archaic, it is windows 2000 based or something like that. Not simple to use. The interface is ridiculous. How did PC Mag rate this so high??
The one positive thing I will say is that the people that I dealt with came across as kind if not bordered on companionate, but they still have my $400.00 with a software that I do not like. I feel like I have been taken. I am attaching an email with my full name and email removed to prove.
I will try and find every web sight possible to give these guys a hard time and hopefully prevent others from the same mistake.

Refund Denied -- False Advertising
I purchased WebWatcher for my daughter's iphone. Immediately I had issues because their website is not mobile friendly and is difficult to view on a mobile device.
Upon entering her apple ID/Password it became apparent she did not have nearly enough ICloud storage to support WebWatcher's 5GB requirement. I immediately requested a refund via email (only way to communicate w/ the refund dept) explaining the situation. After receiving no response, I contacted Live Chat again and was told my refund was denied as it was no fault of theirs. Upon calling the 1-800 # I FINALLY found for them I was informed there was no way to speak to anyone in the refund department (testament in itself that they are not a reputable company) and company would not budge.
Absolutely horrible customer service.
Out $100 for NOTHING. DO NOT SIGN UP WITH THEM!!

THEIR PRODUCT DOES NOTING TO KEEP MY CHILD SAFE
This is a terrible company and their product does nothing to keep my child safe. I purchased this to monitor iPhone activity but, at best, it only works if content is NOT DELETED by my child before the next back up to the cloud.
Kids are too smart for that and know to delete as they go... I discovered this within hours of purchasing the product yet they refuse to refund my money based on the fine print in the terms and conditions which they keep hiding behind. The point is that product completely fails to deliver its most basic purpose.
Plus, Awareness added a BS insurance product to the shopping cart that I did not select or intend to purchase yet they would not refund that either.
TOTAL SCAM shameful organization.

Doesnt collect data as described. Not good for Iphone
I spend hours on the site with the service. testing downloads, photos sends, texts etc but the system simply didn't capture anything but 2 phone calls.
It is only supposed to work when the phone syncs to iTunes. I did this teice a day for a week including turning on WiFi syncing. It still failed to capture and of the key activities like texting etc
It is a terrible product. the customer service is appauling and no refunds given. I have emailed them asking for a refund. I have chatted with them for hours but no result
Waste of $100
Don't buy it for iPhone monitoring

Save your money apple users!
Touted as an easy, reliable way to monitor iphone/iPad. Not so much.
If you're relying on monitoring from another iPad or iPhone you are out of luck, it requires Adobe flash player which we all is not available on apple devices. Awareness technology customer service will tell you to download "Puffin" which will not work well either and they will also say to view it from your pc/Mac. Well, that kind of defeats the purpose of being able to monitor anytime, from anywhere, doesn't it.
Oh, and wait! I hope you were able to figure this all out within 72 hours or there is no refund.
Worst company ever, what a complete waste of time and money!

Did not work as promised!
Webwatcher is supposed to be invisible to anyone who uses the computer. However, when two of my employees logged on to their computers the day after I installed it, a pop up window showing "Awareness Technologies" tipped them off that software had been installed.
A quick Google search led them to realize that I had installed the software--imagine my embarrassment!
I called Awareness and told them of my plight and was told to send an email requesting a refund.
After I sent the email, they denied my request because they have a three day refund request policy. When I explained that I am only requesting a refund because Webwatcher was not invisible as they promise, they essentially called me a liar by replying that what I am telling them can't possibly happen.

The software locked up a new Intel i7-3770 3.4 Ghz/8gb DDR3 Work Station
Our IT person downloaded the Web Watcher software and activated via the key sent by email. Our IT person spent hours of the first day attempting to get the product to operate as advertised.
No response was received from many inquiries to Awareness Technologies tech support. We cancelled and requested a full refund the next day. After a 3 month ordeal, we obtained a refund with help from our banking authority. Their product appeared to be a complete scam.
We recommend that no entity purchase any products or services from Awareness Technologies. If an entity does purchase from them, be prepared for a long ordeal to get a refund if dissatisfied. As we were so ignored, we pursued the issue for refund very intently. Awareness Technologies does not anticipate such a reaction to their lack of action.
Read their website agreements carefully at time of purchase.
Awareness Technologies is poorly operated with poor products. DO NOT BUY anything from them.
- Waste of productive time

Resolved: Awareness technologies software is terrible
Update,
Received a phone call from the company this morning: Vice President Corporate Marketing, Michael Goldberg.
He quoted that he had 3 options for me, but because I posted on this site they are not going to honor any of the 3 options.
He went on to let me know that this was my fault due to this post. Stating that we didn't give them the opportunity to rectify the situation.
We implemented this product in August of 2014 and have had issues after issue. Countless emails (50) and phone conversations back and forth with their engineers. I would say that we have shown more than grace and time to have this issue fixed. Only after writing an email filled with frustration did someone higher up contact us only to let us know that it is now our fault and our problem.
He used bullying tactics with us and was very unprofessional treating us like we were ***. There would have not been a post had the company done its job. He even quoted to us that he felt it was necessary that explain how all software has problems and issues. Good thing we didn't have a problem when we dished out over $5000 to pay for the software.
Michael Goldberg mouth is just like his software... unfiltered and lacking in solutions.
This was the engineers response... Unfortunately, I am aware that you have a large number of machines which have an older version of the software installed on them that cannot be updated remotely from the console. In the interest of providing as much transparency as possible during this process I explained to Spencer the technical complications associated with our discovery as we designated development resources exclusively to investigate this case for you.
We did not know the outcome until shortly before I sent the email to Spencer. Regardless, we are still looking into other possible options on this matter and trying to review every possible situation that may work for remote updating but as of this moment we do not have a solution. The VP informed me that we are pretty much on our own from this point, again due to our honest post. We have read through the comments posted here, all with the same frustration we ran into.
We would have loved to have built a great relationship with this company because, Sarah Smegal our Rep has been wonderful to work with. Very upset by the end result the company offered us and yet no solution except, reinstall it on every machine you own manually. We are stuck until June 2015 due to the amount of money we have invested into this companies product. It will cost us a lot of money to manually reinstall the software on every machine and time.
They promised us their product would auto install and it has not worked once. Great thing is, there are plenty of other companies out there that offer this service and can treat their customers with respect.
We are a school of about 710 students and we just changed over to their software in August of 2014. We have had nothing but issues and no solutions to the problems. We have demanded our money back but so far no refund. This program does not work and most of the time it crashes. We are to say the least... disappointed and very dissatisfied.
I do not recommend this software, do not waste your money.
This company has not been true to their word and will not honor what they promised to us as a company. They were great at taking our money but did not deliver.

Payed for licence, didn't receive info after 11days. Award Tech will not refund.
I attempted to purchase software from a company in the United States, Award Technologies, that was now 11 days ago. I have not received any info with regard to downloading the software or login on details. Initially they indicated that the email address was not registered on their data base, however, they have been 'ping ponging' emails to me via the address they supposedly don't have on their database. They are saying that we are 'locked into the contract now' however' I showed them that according to their own 'Terms of Service' that because they haven't sent any details for downloading or logging on, and therefore the transaction is not complete, therefore the terms of service have not been completed. They are stating that they have to be given the opportunity to rectify the matter, 11 days is well beyond an acceptable time period. They also state that the only way that we are entitled to a refund is that their product does not perform as advertised.
I have started a dispute through Pay Pal but, wanted to warn anyone else attempting to deal with this company, who are all about getting your money and sucking you in to hidden extra charges. There are better, cheaper alternatives out there for 'Mum and Dad' purchasers.
PC Mag Review should included customer service reviews.
